Emotional and financial wellness has unsurprisingly been a huge topic for our community this year. In these uncertain times, we are here to support you in any way we can, which is why we hosted a wellness webinar with industry expert and financial guru, Michael Cole, and 2020 Faces of Sola, Bianca Margolis. Together, they discussed ways to combat COVID Crisis Fatigue, ways to adjust numbers to keep your business thriving, and how to stay healthy, both emotionally and financially.
Many of us have experienced COVID Crisis Fatigue, or unrelenting stress from the pressures of COVID-19, which cause intense emotions like fear, anxiety, frustration, and anger. Over time, these emotions leave us feeling emotionally numb or tired. However, Michael believes that “just because we’re feeling powerless about the pandemic, doesn’t mean we lack the power to recover from the fatigue.”
The power to recover from fatigue requires the following:
- The Power of Awareness - The first step to getting rebalanced is to have emotional awareness because “what we’re aware of we can stop, and what we are unaware of stops us.”
- The Attitude of Acceptance - The second step is having the courage to accept the new normal that comes with COVID and the willingness to let go of the old and all that went with it.
- The Vitality of Action - The third step is to take vital actions on what we are aware of and what we have accepted the responsibility to change.
Bianca Margolis, owner of B. Rose Studio in South Loop Chicago, has (like all of us) been impacted by COVID-19. However, she used awareness, acceptance, and action to recover from the fatigue she felt at the beginning of the pandemic. She not only used her time during quarantine to spend quality time with her family, but she was able to take a step back, reevaluate her goals, and spend time working on her business, even though she was not able to work in it. Fast forward to today, Bianca has been able to...
Create a Relaxing Vibe
“I think that’s really important to set the mood...even just things like music, lighting, nice candles, hot towels… there are simple things that you can do to elevate your service that doesn’t cost you crazy amounts of money.”
Look At The Positives
“I was really upset and sad in the beginning, so I could relate, but going back to the awareness acceptance, and action, I stopped looking at the bad things like being closed for two and a half months and realized I got to spend amazing time with my husband and my dogs. I’ve never in my life gotten to spend that much time with them.”
Seek Opportunities For Improvement
“I looked at my brand and my business, and I was like, ‘What could I do to be better?’ I reimagined what is a traditional website by basically turning my Instagram into my walking talking lookbook, business card, contact info, reviews. All you have to do is go to my Instagram and everything is there.”
Find Success
“A huge part of my success and how I achieved my numbers is because of Instagram! What I hear from my clients is that it’s simple, it’s easy, and it’s streamlined. They’re like, ‘It’s so easy to book you. We can do it 24/7 through SolaGenius, and I don’t need to log in. I can just book and it shows your calendar.”
Stay Connected
“Coming out of COVID, people are really looking for that human connection, so make sure you can stay relatable and stay connected. They want to see your lives. They want to see your face. I noticed that content with my face in it gets some of the most action [on Instagram]. Make sure you sprinkle in a little bit of your product lines in there, show your hair, and what you’re doing personally...they want to see all of it! It’s just about figuring out how to do it in a way that works for you and your brand.”
